Lunar New Year, also known as Spring Festival, marks the beginning of spring and the first new moon of the lunisolar calendar. Welcoming new beginnings and a fresh start, let’s visit Disney Parks around the world as they celebrate the arrival of this special time of year.

Kicking off the year of the tiger, Tigger is ready to bounce into the festivities! He’s welcoming guests alongside Mickey and friends, at Shanghai Disney Resort and the Disneyland Resort in dazzling new outfits. Themed merchandise and hotel activities are also available at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort.

A new lunar year brings a brand-new look to Shanghai Disney Resort through Feb. 16, immersing guests from the moment they step into the park with both new customs and longstanding traditions.

Start the morning with good fortune during the “Mickey Avenue Drum Ceremony” or witness the colorful tradition that is the Lion Dance from Feb. 2 to 16. As the day draws to a close, “ILLUMINATE! A Nighttime Celebration” lights up the sky, followed by the limited time show “Our Families.”

In between the festivities, gather with family to enjoy set menus designed especially for Lunar New Year get-togethers or snack your way through the day with sweet sensations like New Year raspberry jelly white chocolate mousse cakes and Donald vanilla ice cream cones.

The fun continues over at the Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel where guests can book a magical visit with a Lunar New Year-themed merchandise product package. During your stay, learn about traditional Lunar New Year at seasonal arts & crafts classes, where guests can make traditional ornaments, fans, and more.

The Disneyland Resort is also celebrating the season through Feb. 13 with festivities commemorating Chinese, Korean, and Vietnamese cultures at Disney California Adventure park.
