Inspiring. Incredible. Indescribable.
Over the last two weeks, we welcomed hundreds of elite athletes from the U.S. military and allied nations to Walt Disney World Resort for the 2022 Department of Defense Warrior Games. It was an extraordinary event that went beyond a series of adaptive sporting competitions or the medals the athletes earned. The determination and grit of these servicemen and servicewomen as they competed for their nations- and their support of one another- was truly moving.
As unforgettable as it was for the athletes and their families, it’s also an event that I will cherish for years to come. I felt lucky to stand alongside volunteers and my fellow cast members as we watched these athletes embody the resilience, dedication, camaraderie and strength of the warriors they are. We witnessed the true meaning of sports.
As the 2022 Warrior Games came to an end at the Closing Ceremonies, athletes and their families came together to celebrate. And I realized it wasn’t about the medals or the military branch, but about their collective triumphs. An unforgettable, awe-inspiring event that will have a lasting impact on everyone involved. Thank you, warriors, for your service to our country and for allowing us to be part of your journey. It truly was an honor.
