From June 21 until August 31, a whole host of cool seasonal offerings will help guests plan for chilled-out summer travels with their friends and family. Whether celebrating milestones such as graduations, anniversaries, and birthdays, or simply embarking on a family trip for the summer break, Shanghai Disney Resort is the place to recharge and relax this season. New character experience and watery entertainment heat up the summer fun
This summer kicks off fun-filled entertainment at Shanghai Disney Resort with the debut of Ralph and Vanellope from Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Wreck-It Ralph. This pair of friends will make their debut at Shanghai Disney Resort on June 23 in a special ceremony in front of Storytellers Statue. Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday throughout the summer, Ralph and Vanellope will transform the Pepsi E-Stage into a smashing disco with the new show, “Ralph Breaks the Dance Floor,” inviting guests to join them as a cast of Disney dancers and live singers show off their best summer dance moves echoing the seasonal vibes.
Getting into the summer spirit are Mickey and Friends, who are dressing up as tourists in bright and cheerful outfits and ready to enjoy the summer in the park. Duffy and Friends will also be wearing their new summer fashions inspired by a fun bubble party. With a fresh color palette and bubble elements, their new outfits depict an easy, breezy summer moment. They will be on Mickey Avenue throughout the summer waiting for a hug and ready to sign their autograph in their trendy new clothes. Guests might also catch them in their summer outfits on the first day of the summer season as they appear on the castle stage.
The breezy tropical atmosphere continues through the summer months as coconuts, pinwheels, windmills, rainbow bubbles, and other watery elements decorate the park. Guests won’t want to miss grabbing a photo at the interactive “Cool Summer” social wall. It wouldn’t be summer without the return of the anticipated “Disney Duffy’s Splashing Pre-Parade” – which is guaranteed to cause a splash as it sprays and soaks guests along the parade route – and the cooling “‘Summer Blast’ Castle Show” featuring iconic characters and fresh jet streams of water gushing from the stage. Also returning is “Farmer Al’s Splash-Around” – the kid-friendly show will be back in Disney•Pixar Toy Story Land for buckets of fun. Additionally, guests can look forward to the cool summer version of the swashbuckling “Swabbie Fight” in Treasure Cove. Guests can also enjoy musical vibes in a new show over in Adventure Isle, where four passionate musicians will perform as part of the newly formed “Adventure Isle Explorer Band.” During their travels, the four-piece, lively ensemble will bring their spirited musical interaction to guests passing by.
This season, a special Stitch Day Celebration performance will be held on June 26 to celebrate the adorable space invader Experiment 626, a.k.a. Stitch, as he joins his friend Lilo on the Pepsi E-stage in Tomorrowland.
Guests visiting the park will also have the chance to have a surprise encounter with Lilo and Stitch in Tomorrowland, and to savor Stitch-inspired food and beverage items. Starting June 21, the new menu from Spiral Snacks will provide guests with an array of delightful Stitch-themed bites, including the Purple Sweet Potato Flavored Ice Cream Cone, Pineapple Flavored Frozen Treats, Teriyaki Roasted Chicken Leg and Pineapple, and more. Bursting with tropical island vibes, the 2023 Stitch Summer Surfing Collection will also be launched in time for the celebration. The collection includes a Stitch plush, keychain, summer outfits and more.
Disney Pin Trading makes a hot comeback, alongside new merchandise collections as the season’s latest must-haves
Right on time for a fun-tastic summer, guests can anticipate the return of another iconic experience as Disney Pin Trading launches at Shanghai Disney Resort. Coinciding with Shanghai Disneyland’s 7th anniversary on June 16, this beloved interactive Disney activity will give guests the opportunity to bring home wonderful memories while making friends along the way by trading pins with cast members wearing a lanyard or accessory. Commemorating the 7th anniversary of the resort, guests will be able to buy a specially designed anniversary pin for the occasion to begin their pin trading journey. With only one pin needed to begin, pin trading is sure be enjoyed by guests of all ages.
To add even more summer fun, the 2023 Duffy and Friends Summer Bubble Party Collection is ready for guests to take a piece of cuteness home. The collection features adorable bubble party-inspired plushes and keychains, plus rainbow-hued accessories, apparel, homeware and more. Outdoors, the Summer StellaLou Bow Visor paired with the Summer Duffy and Friends Fan Set and Bubble Bracelet are the perfect accessories to stay well protected from the sun and look fashionable at the same time. Indoors, a cool summer’s breeze through an open window jingles the Summer CookieAnn LinaBell Bell, made cozier with the Summer StellaLou LinaBell Cushion, and iced tea in a Summer LinaBell Cup. Other items to seek out this summer include those from the 2023 Mickey and Friends Summer Fun Collection. In this collection, Mickey and Friends are out in the park for a day, enjoying the attractions and food at the resort in their trendy new outfits. The designs incorporate elements from attractions like the iconic Fantasia Carousel and Roaring Rapids, as well as classic summertime treats like watermelon ice cream and beverages. Accessories for the perfect summer look include the juicy fruit-inspired lemony Summer Dale Cross Body Bag and watermelon-shaped Summer Chip Headband. Summer is the perfect time to indulge in a bit of sweetness, and beginning this season, CookieAnn Bakery Café will roll out a new all-season menu featuring enough freshly baked items to keep that sweet tooth busy for the rest of the year! CookieAnn’s signature milkshakes are back in delicious flavors with the new ‘Olu Mel avocado, CookieAnn passion fruit, and classic Minnie strawberry milkshakes, topped with eye-catching edible decorations. Brand new items on the menu include Swiss rolls cheerfully themed to Duffy and Friends, in matching colors for each of the seven characters. Guests can also indulge in a variety of sliced cakes — like cheesecakes, black forest cakes, and tiramisu — or bite into flaky croissants filled with new flavors such as caramel, berry, lemon, and orange. To put the finishing touches on a summer visit to Shanghai Disney Resort, guests are invited to head over to Disneytown where the fan-favorite Summer Night Market will make its return. As the day cools off and the sun goes down, guests can expect delicious food, lively outdoor entertainment, and perusing unique goods. The Summer Night Market will be held every Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and public holidays starting June 22 through to August 27. Evenings are also a great time for educational trips for kids as Disneytown Wishing Star Park Adventure’s night exploration events are back. On select Saturday and Sunday nights from June to September, kids aged 5 to 8 years old will have the opportunity to become Little Explorers as they explore the world of nocturnal animals at Wishing Star Park in Disneytown.
